Hakob Hakobyan Changed his Mind: He’ll again Be Nominated by People’s Appeal
Political
In the upcoming Local Governmental elections, which will take place on September 9, the current Mayor Karen Grigoryan - General Manvel Grigoryan’s son, and former MP, RPA Hakob Hakobyan will fight for the chair of Echmiadzin Mayor. Though Hakobyan earlier reported to News.am, that not only he won’t be nominated against Manvel Grigoryan’s son - Karen Grigoryan, but will also support him: but today he didn’t exclude the possibility of his nomination. "I didn’t want to be nominated, I’ve already done such a declaration, but now I’m not sure. The people have come and persuaded. I don’t know what to say, how to explain and how to refuse.”
Note, that in the parliamentary elections Hakob Hakobyan nominated his candidacy in Precinct 19, again, "by people’s appeal" and lost, already the second time, to non-RPA General Seyran Saroyan. Hakobyan also lost to Karen Grigoryan in the previous Mayor elections. In response to the question, whether these continuous defeats enchain him or not, Hakob Hakobyan replied: “Of course, not. If the people plead, what happened? It’s not like we are not pawning our lives. Eventually moral victory is the essential. And I’ve won and don’t see anything bad. You go to the battle field, your opponent attacks with 10 weapons. Here the essential is the people’s assessment, and the rest of the evaluations are null.”
Note, that during the campaign of parliamentary elections RA President Serzh Sargsyan, speaking of Karen Grigoryan, in the town of Echmiadzin, said that he is a good Mayor.
