15 Year-Old Girl Conceived from her Step Father: The Child’s Father Left Armenia

We met the nice looking girl in Light House Foundation. In a few days she’ll turn 15, and in a month she’ll become a mother.
“She’s neither a girl, nor a woman”, said psychologist Liana Khachatryan, who’s been working with the under-age future mother.
The child was subjected to sexual violence by her step father Andranik from Yerevan. When he learnt that the girl was pregnant, he left the country. But leaving in this case is relative, because his step wife and step daughter not only knew about it, but also encouraged him, and had a feast before leaving the country.
Criminal case was launched in Nor Nork Department, then was moved to Abovyan Department. Investigator Artur Marukyan didn’t give details and didn’t even say under what articles he was charged. He just informed that he will be under reconnaissance.
The girl came to the center of women subjected to sexual violence on June 22 with her mother. One of employees of SOS children’s village has petitioned, the beneficiaries of which are two younger brothers of the girl. And she is one of the beneficiaries of “Huysi Avan” district, who lived not in the district but in a house. She finished 8th grade with difficulty as symptoms of pregnancy came out.
The family lives in socially ban condition, surviving on the account of allowance and grandmother’s pension. When a strange man appeared who was willing to take all the expenses on him, family members, including grandmother, accepted him with love. They loved him so much that alien children accepted him as a father. But the minibus driver began to gallant the minor girl of his second wife.
Then he began to threaten the child and even beat her a few times and made her cohabit with him. The girl couldn’t resist long and one day surrendered. When the mother of the girl understood what was going on, drove him out of the house. Then they forgave him, and let him come back.
Since the first day of coming to Light House, the girl was tend to suspend the unwanted pregnancy by artificial miscarriage. But it was mainly her mother’s and aunt’s decision. “Now, at the eight month they’re looking for someone to suspend pregnancy, to get rid of the child. I said there’s crime in her actions and I’ll apply to the Police. She calmed down”, said the sponsor of Light House, who lives in the USA.
Long psychological talks took the girl back of doing that. “Now she’s calmer, in a better mood as compared to previous days. At that time she’s thinking of doing it, but now she’s ready to grow the child if she has a shelter and someone to help her. Although she’s going to give her to orphanage”, said psychologist Liana Sargsyan.
According to the girl she’s not going to leave the child in orphanage long, she’ll take it as soon as it becomes an adult, she’ll find job and rent an apartment. She came to Light House to hide from neighbors and relatives. She’ll give birth to the child, give to the orphanage and return home, like nothing has happened. Neighbors and relatives were told that she’s in camp for a couple of months, said director of Light House Naira Muradyan.
P.S. It’s already two years that the father of the girl divorced from the family, and he doesn’t know anything about the incident. “As soon as he knows, he’ll kill both me and him”, said the child.
