San Isidro Administrative District of Argentina Recognized the Armenian Genocide

Yesterday the city council of San Isidro administrative district of Buenos Aires state of Argentine, the chairman of which is Julia Rita Kuzis, unanimously voted for the Resolution recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide, and, in the same time joining the No. 26199 state law "In memory of the Genocide suffered by the Armenians”, accepted on December 13, 2006, by the Argentine Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, with which April 24 was declared a "day of respect and tolerance between peoples."
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports, that the City Council session was attended by RA Ambassador to Argentina – Vahagn Meliqyan, the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Chile and Argentina, Der Gisak Archbishop Muradyan,Fr. Mashtots Arakelyan of San Isidro district, as well as representatives of Armenian-Argentine institutions and organizations.
After the voting, RA Ambassador to Argentina, Vahagn Meliqyan and the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Chile and Argentina, Der Gisak Archbishop Muradyan made speeches. The latters, greatly stressed the importance of the resolution adopted by the City Council of San Isidro, expressed their gratitude on behalf of Armenia and the Armenian people in relation to the document adopted for truth and justice.
