Samvel Balasanyan is Still the Only Candidate to Gyumri Mayor

On August 5- the 1st day of the nomination of candidates in the future elections to community leader, which will take place in 380 communities of 5 regions of Armenia, on September 9, nominations have been registered only in 28 communities, included 5 towns. On the whole, 34 candidates have been nominated. CEC reported on this to the reporter of “Fastinfo” agency.
In Gyumri (Shirak region) Ejmiatsin (Armavir), Tashir (Lori), Kapan (Syunik) one candidate has been nominated yesterday, and in Vanadsor (Lori) – 2 candidates.
The only nominated candidate in Gyumri is RA NA MP, “Prosperous Armenia” party representative Samvel Balasanyan. In Ejmiatsin and Tashir current Mayors, non-partisans Karen Grigoryan and Nshan Soghoyan have been self-nominated, and in Kapan- current Mayor, ARF member Arthur Atayan.
In Vanadzor, RPA nominated member, current Mayor Samvel Darbinyan, and “Populex” LLC Director, non-partisan Karen Tumanyan has self-nominated.
The deadline for the candidates to submit their documents to the Electoral Commission is the 6 pm of August 10.
