84 Candidates for Elections to Local Self-Government Bodies are Nominated in 69 Districts

On August 5 and 6 the 1st 2 days of the nomination of candidates in the future elections to community leader, which will take place in 380 communities of 5 regions of Armenia, on September 9, nominations have been registered only in 69 communities, included 8 towns. On the whole, 84 candidates have been nominated. CEC reported on this to the reporter of “Fastinfo” agency.
In Gyumri (Shirak region) Echmiadzin (Armavir), Tashir (Lori), Stepanavan (Lori), Kapan and Meghri (Syunik) one candidate has been nominated during the 1st 2 days, and in Vanadzor (Lori) and Masis (Ararat) – 2 candidates.
The only nominated candidate in Gyumri is RA NA MP, PAP representative Samvel Balasanyan. In Echmiadzin and Tashir current Mayors, non-partisans Karen Grigoryan and Nshan Soghoyan have been self-nominated, in Kapan- current Mayor, ARF member Arthur Atayan, in Stepanavan- the head of Stepanavan Social Service, non-partisan Michael Gharaqeshishyan, in Meghri- IE, non-partisan Arshavir Hovhannisyan.
In Vanadzor, RPA nominated its member, current Mayor Samvel Darbinyan, and “Populex” LLC Director, non-partisan Karen Tumanyan has self-nominated. In Masis RPA nominated its member Sasha Hakobyan, and non-partisan Norayr Nahapetyan has self-nominated.
The deadline for the candidates to submit their documents to the Electoral Commission is the 6 pm of August 10.
