Arman Yeremyan Failed to Win a Medal

Arman Yeremyan, the representative of Armenia lost to British Lutalo Muhammad in the fight for the 3rd place in the Taekwondo tournament (80 kg class weight) of the Olympics. The British made a 3-point strike, and the Armenian athlete made a 1-point strike: the 1st round was finished with the victory of the British- 4:1. The 2nd round registered the score of 1:5 , in favor of the British. In the 3rd round Yeremyan earned 1 point, but didn’t manage to do more. As a result the representative of Armenia lost by 9:3 and was deprived of the Olympic medal.
It should be noted that the Armenian athlete beat Canadian Sebastian Misho in the 1/8 final by 8:4 (0:2, 6:0, 2:2) score. He beat Dutch Tommy Mollet in the 1/4 final, and lost to Argentinian representative Sebastian Eduardo Crismanich in the semi-final.
