We shouldn’t let Armenia draw in Putin’s Russia caprices: politician

Today PAP released a statement according to which with the initiative of Youth Union of PAP August 22-27, under Gagik Tsarukyan’s canopy, Eurasion Youth Conference will be held in Tsaghkadzor. The statement read that delegations which arrived from 14 countries are going to discuss the idea of foundation of Eurasion Union with the Armenian side and at the end of the conference a special declaration will be signed.
For the purpose of getting a viewpoint Lurer.com contacted politician Ruben Mehrabyan, which particularly stated, “This is a step against national and state interests of Armenia. I consider it an action against our state. I think Armenian society should formulate its clear position and voice it. Fortunately this is a private viewpoint but, anyhow, viewpoint of a group, which makes use of levers of political influence, and there is need to neutralize it and it shouldn’t be allowed to Armenia to draw in satisfaction field of Putin’s Russia caprices. Armenian statehood doesn’t have any problems.”
To the question, which are the 14 countries that, according to the announcement, are interested in taking part in the conference, the politician said, “In every country Putin’s Russia made and makes steps to develop scopes of its influence. I’m of the opinion that Armenian society can make conclusions from this statement what today’s PAP is.”
“It depends on society, society reactionary, calling things by their names by the society what outcome will this adventure have. I think it’ll fail, as it’s an anti-historical, anti-civilization initiative and in no way is driven by the interest of Armenian society, state and statehood. In near future we’ll see its end”, concluded the politician.
