Cosmopolitan’s most famous editor in chief- Helen Brown, who headed the magazine for 30 years, died at the age of 90 in New York. Hearst Corporation publication’s press release reads.
Helen Brown became known in 1962, after the publication of "Sex and the single girl” book. The book became a bestseller and a comedy has been shot on it in 1964. In 1965 Hearst Corporation publication offered Helen to head the Cosmopolitan magazine, which had become a family business and was publishing the works of contemporary writers. During the office of Helen, Cosmopolitan has become a magazine for women, and models and actresses began to appear on its cover. Helen left Cosmopolitan inn 1997, but continued to head the 63 international versions of the magazine till the end of her life.
