Austria’s newly-appointed Ambassador to Armenia, Alois Kraut today presented his credentials to Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan (his diplomatic residence is in Vienna).
President Sargsyan congratulated the Ambassador Kraut for commencing his diplomatic mission in Armenia, wished him success, and expressed a hope that this success will become visible by a progress in Armenian-Austrian ties, the President’s Press Office informs.
The interlocutors underscored Austrian President Heinz Fischer’s official visit paid to Armenia this June, and the agreements reached during that visit and in connection with developing Armenian-Austrian relations. They stressed that this was the first-ever visit to Armenia by an Austrian president, over the course of the 20-year history of Armenian-Austrian interstate ties, and this visit brought a new quality to bilateral cooperation.
The President noted that Armenia underscores developing relations with Austria in multilateral format, too, including active cooperation within the EU.
And in terms of developing interaction in the economic sector, the interlocutors highlighted the Austrian Development Agency’s (ADA) plan to carry out projects in the South Caucasus, specifically in Armenia.
