Respectable Government: Armenian is the official language of RA
ARCHIVE
About all state institutions have their websites in Armenia. This, of course is welcomed, but it’s not welcomed when entering those websites you feel yourself not the RA but a citizen of a second country. About a month ago Lurer.com touched upon the RA NSS website, which is bilingual and only has Russian and Armenian versions. But the peculiarity of the website is when you enter the website Russian variant appeared first as a rule. Today that gap is filled and to our joy the Armenian version can be seen first. But the website has only Armenian and Russian versions and we hope this will also be solved.
Interesting enough, the NSS website is not the only one and the Government tries not to step back. The problem is, when we follow the Government official website the English version appears first. Doesn’t the Government staff perceive that this is the official website of RA Government and its main readers are not Europeans, Americans and seldom English speaking residents of Mozambique Republic, but the RA citizens, and the communication language of the overwhelming majority is Armenian.
Let’s hope, after this publication the Government website will follow the example of NSS and will change that “oversight.”
