Prisoners are being tortured and raped in Georgia's prisons (video)

Georgian opposition Maestro and TV-9 televisions on Tuesday evening shared cadres of tortures of Georgian prisoners in Gldan prison in Tbilisi filmed by a hidden camera.
It can be seen in the video how the prison watchers rape prisoners with rubber truncheons and even with brooms. There were also cadres how around 20 watchers beat prisoners with hands and feet. These cadres were provided to Belgian opposition televisions by a former Gldan prison worker, which held hidden filming for months.
In an interview given to TV-9 Bedukadze said tortures had been realized with the command of Georgia’s Minister of Inner Affairs Bacho Akhalaya and that such tortures had also been realized in other prisons as well. Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance Khatuna Kalmakhelidze was also aware of tortures realized in prisons.
Bedukadze also noted, that he has already transferred the cadres to EU representatives in Brussels. On Tuesday, after publication of shocking cadres prisoners’ relatives and representatives of opposition parties held protest before Gldan prison and State Theatre Tbilisi Philharmonic building. The protestants demand to immediately fire Georgia’s Ministers of Inner Affairs and of Corrections and Legal Assisstance. As Georgian medias report, protests are also held in Batumi and Poti.
