Prosecutor General’s petition to deprive me of deputy immunity is a political order: Oskanian
Political
Vartan Oskanian has made a statement, explicitly considering Prosecutor General’s petition to deprive him of deputy immunity, a political order. The statement particularly reads:
"I explicitly consider Prosecutor General’s petition to deprive me of deputy immunity a political order. From the very first day when the National Security Service initiated criminal case, it was clear to me that this is a political order, as the initiated case was devoid of any legal content.
I have not yet received a formal petition of immunity deprivation, so I do not want to assume what the exact charge will be. Up to now it’s been about "money laundering", "malicious evasion of tax obligations” or "funds misappropriation". I won’t be surprised if there is another nonsense charge.
Regardless of the charge provided for me this time, it cannot have any legal grounding.
For me, this is a new milestone in the political struggle. Although this dimension of the struggle is not mine, I am ready to fight to the end. If this aims to enchain my political activity, and to silence my criticism over the failed authorities of all the fields, then I can definitely tell that the authorities have also failed in these calculations.
I’m ready to continue my struggle for reaching real changes in our country even in such conditions and on this plane.”
To remind you, as earlier lurer.com had reported, Armenia’s Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan has petitioned Armenia’s parliament for its consent to involving Vartan Oskanian, an MP of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), in a criminal investigation conducted by Armenia’s National Security Service.
