Nalbandyan meets Latin-American counterparts

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is in New York to attend the UN General Assembly session, on Friday met with Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Secretary General Lamberto Zannier.
They primarily discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and the preparations for the OSCE Ministers’ Council session to be convened in Dublin, Armenian MFA press service informs.
At Armenia’s United Nations mission in New York, Nalbandian received the American Jewish Committee (AJC) delegation, led by AJC Associate Director, Ambassador Aaron Jacob. They exchanged views on the developments in the South Caucasus and the processes in the Middle East.
During Edward Nalbandian’s meeting with Belarusian FM Vladimir Makei, they reflected on cooperation within CSTO, CIS, and other international organizations, and the avenues for expanding economic interaction.
During the talk with Greek FM Dimitris Avramopoulos, a satisfaction was expressed over the high level of Armenian-Greek ties. The ministers discussed the implementation of the arrangements that were made during Armenian President’s visit paid to Greece last year, and reflected on the Armenia-EU cooperation and the progress achieved in this connection.
During Armenian FM’s meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Ali Akbar Salehi, they examined bilateral relations and regional and international developments.
Edward Nalbandian’s meeting with Mexican FM Patricia Espinosa was devoted to stimulating bilateral ties, and they discussed the steps to develop cooperation. Nalbandian informed his Mexican colleague that Armenia plans to open an embassy in Mexico next year. Also, Armenia’s FM briefed Espinosa on the efforts, which Armenia and the international community have undertaken, to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Next, Nalbandian met with Guatemalan FM Harold Caballeros, during which they reflected on establishing cooperation between both MFAs, and the opportunities for cooperation in the domains of culture and education. In addition, Harold Caballeros invited his Armenian colleague to Guatemala.
During Armenian FM’s meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, they discussed the steps to enhance bilateral ties and exchanged views on regional matters.
