Georgia
Leader of the Georgian Dream coalition Bidzina Ivanishvili says Georgia will not change its strategy towards EU and NATO. The leader of the winner political subject in the parliamentary elections of October 1, who will assume the office of the prime minister soon, gave interview to Euronews last night. Euronews prepared a long-reportage about Georgia parliamentary elections and put questions to the billionaire tycoon about his vision of Georgia's future, including trade relations with Russia and European integration.
Ivanishvili said Georgia would maintain its current course in relations with EU and NATO, however, normalization of relations with Russia was necessary.
'Normalizing relations with Russia will not be easy and it will take a long time. First day we should work on establishing cultural and trade relations, only afterwards we should be focused on the territorial integrity of our country, maintaining friendly relations with Russia,' Ivanishvili said.
GD leader also commented on business strategy of his political team.
'Nowadays a Georgian businessman is not ready to export its product to the American and European market. In an initial stage it will be good and interesting for us to return to the Russian market. Georgian businessmen are more familiar with Russian market. Main problem is the lack of local production. Market is vital in business, however, this market should be unique with its product,' Ivanishvili said.
