Europeans talk of their neighbors
World
There is a background stereotype that the Europeans mostly talk over Americans and find faults with them. But in contrast with this stereotype thinking, the recent studies showcase that the Europeans are more often keen to talk over themselves, caricature their European neighbors more or less, thus exposing to criticism their general behavior and conduct.
The study has been based on the interactions with Europeans, having lived there for 4 years. According to the run-down, the major goal was to reveal Europeans’ attitude towards each other, their characteristical and behavioral traits that are mostly appreciated or judged as bad.
Thus, most of the French are disliked by the British and Spanish (particularly, by the Catalonians) for being arrogant. The British-talking-over-the-French fall into two groups, sharing both positive and negative opinions (http://www.inlobby.com/r/paris.html): those who talk positively and those who are merely irritated by the self-exposure of the French. The British also consider them for the rude personalities who avert taking queues, the studies say.
While talking about the French, most of the Europeans also called special attention to their tendency to convene strikes and demonstrations, sometimes even for ungrounded reasons.
While talking about the Italians, generally Europeans shared rather positive opinion about this nation, above all feeling deep appreciation for the Italian cuisine. In their turn, Italians (http://www.inlobby.com/r/rome_hotels.html) seemed to be more reticent while speaking about their neighbors, and on the contrary mainly judging the inner characteristic traits, common to Southern and Northern Italians. Thus, for example, Northern Italians considered the Southern lazy and rather inefficient at work, whereas the Southern Italians complained of their Northern neighbors for their being more restrained and for their little interest in culture and art.
Almost all Europeans shared common viewpoints on the Germans - the latter always strive to work hard, are anxious and a bit lack of humor.
It is noteworthy that quite a great number of citizens from the former Soviet Union countries prefer to acquire educational degree in Germany, however the same willingness is not observed among Europeans who seem reluctant to study in Germany’s educational institutions. When talking about Germany, young Europeans mainly seemed to express their interest towards Berlin (http://www.inlobby.com/r/berlin.html), which comprises a variety of clubs, entertainment venues to spend the leisure. The Germans have been mostly criticized by the Dutch and Danish who sometimes even don't hide their misrespect in face-to-face situations with Germans.
As for the Germans, the recently conducted survey says that they showcase respect to the Czechs and like their Eastern neighbors, Poles.
The British have mostly been categorized as loud-mouthed, drunks, the respondents have noted. They are especially notorious in some vacation spots, like in Ibiza (http://www.inlobby.com/r/ibiza.html), as well as in Amsterdam (http://www.inlobby.com/r/amsterdam.html).
The survey analysts were quite surprised by the rebounds received in connection with the Spanish, namely most of the Europeans spoke quite neutrally about them. They were only noted for their frequent habitue to cast fiestas and siestas, thus hinting on a kind of similarity with the Greek. The Spanish in their turn a bit criticized the French, however with no explicit reasoning, simply focusing only on their being arrogant.
