The digitalization of the tax and custom services creates a demand for more human resources and structural reforms, according to a deputy head of the State Revenue Committee.
At a news conference on Thursday, Armen Alaverdyan said the Committee has now announced a contest for 71 vacant positions.
“Serious measures were taken this year too; particularly in the first quarter that saw three tax inspections suspended as a result of optimization,” Alaverdyan said, according to a press release by the Committee.
“As a result, 125 tax officials who did not fit the Committee’s requirements, were sacked in accordance with the Labor Code requirements. As for the second quarter, four inspections were reorganized resulting in the layoff of 133 tax officials,” he added.
Alaverdyan said that the Committee selects the tax employees based on three basic criteria: high-level professional training, computer literacy and analytical abilities.
“Our staff has to be prepared and be capable of making sector analyses, revealing the risks which will serve as a basis for inspection functions,” he said.
The unprecedentedly highly number of vacancies require mainly candidates specialized in economics, accountancy and law.
