Lavrov: West attempting to drive wedge in Russia-Armenia relations
WorldAllied ties between Russia and Armenia are undergoing a test of strength due to the West's attempts to drive a wedge between the two countries. This was stated in the welcoming address by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, which was read by Russian deputy FM Mikhail Galuzin at the meeting, entitled "The role and place of public diplomacy in the development of relations between Russia and Armenia," reports TASS.
"Today, allied ties between Moscow and Yerevan are being tested in the light of the West's attempts to drive a wedge into the relations of our brotherly peoples," Lavrov said in his address.
Also, the Russian foreign minister expressed his belief that "as a result of the [aforesaid] discussions, practical recommendations will be developed and mutually beneficial ties will be created."
