Russia army General Staff chief: Moscow continues efforts to signing of Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty
RussiaValery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, said that Moscow continues the work aimed at resolving the most drastic disagreements and concluding a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Speaking at a briefing for foreign military attachés in Russia, Gerasimov noted that his country is carrying out purposeful work on the political track toward the unblocking of transport communications in the South Caucasus, as well as resolving the most drastic disagreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"The situation in Transcaucasia [i.e. the South Caucasus] remains tense, but it has a trend towards stabilization," said the chief of the General Staff of the Russian army.
He added that the Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to perform its tasks in Nagorno-Karabakh.
