Gaza death toll surpasses 30,000
World PressMore than 30,000 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel launched its war against Hamas, according to Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization.
“The death toll in Gaza has surpassed 30,000 — a large majority women and children. Over 70,000 Palestinians have been injured. This horrific violence and suffering must end. Ceasefire,” he wrote on social media platform X.
The war in Gaza began when Hamas sent fighters into Israel on Oct. 7, killing around 1,200 people and seizing 253 hostages, according to Israeli tallies.
