White House gets familiarized with Zelenskyy’s peace plan, finds it something ‘that can work’
VideoUS President Joe Biden's administration has already gotten familiarized with the plan proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to end the war in Ukraine and considered it and a plan that can work, US Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, told VOA.
"We have seen President Zelenskyy's peace plan. We believe that it lays out a strategy and a plan that can work. And we need to understand how we can contribute to that by working with all the presidents who will be here in New York [at the UN General Assembly on September 22-23]. We hope to make some progress," said Thomas-Greenfield.
She emphasized that the US always hopes to find a way to peace. This is the goal that President Biden has been working toward in recent years, both in the Gaza Strip and during the war in Ukraine, Thomas-Greenfield added.
