Vice President Kamala Harris has opened an account on TikTok amid the launch of her presidential election campaign, despite attempts by incumbent President—and fellow party member—Joe Biden to ban this Chinese social media platform in the US.

And in her first TikTok video, Harris said she’s “heard that recently I’ve been on the For You Page [with recommended videos for TikTok users], so I thought I’d get on here myself.”

"I heard that I recently appeared on the For You page, so I thought I'd check it out myself," Harris said.
