The son of India's richest man receives a gold Dartz SUV as a wedding gift
PublicationsThe son of India's richest man, Anant Ambani, received a gold Dartz SUV as a wedding gift, which could soon add to his insane car collection.
If the name Dartz isn't familiar to you, it's the same Latvian company that became famous for creating the flashy gold SUV seen in the Sacha Baron Cohen comedy The Dictator. The original car from the film was based on a Hummer H2 and featured an outlandish gold plated body. Two years ago, Dartz celebrated the 10th anniversary of the film's release with a new special edition model, the Dartz Prombron.
Taking its cues from the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, the gold SUV is powered by the German automaker's 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 800 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The massive SUV can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 174 mph.
Starting price Prombron. $1.6 million. The vehicle provides protection against high-velocity armor-piercing projectiles of 0.50 caliber.
