Georgia received NATO-standard armoured vehicles from Turkey
SportGeorgian Defence forces received NATO-standard armoured vehicles VURAN from Turkey based on an agreement signed between Georgia and Turkey. The ceremony was held at the field of the Fourth Infantry Brigade in Vaziani, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
Deputy Defence Minister Sergo Janelidze, Deputy Chief of the Defence Forces Irakli Chichinadze, Turkish Ambassador to Georgia Ali Kaan Orbay and Defence Attaché attended the ceremony.
Equipping the Defence Forces of Georgia with the mentioned armoured vehicles will significantly contribute to the strengthening of Georgia’s defence capabilities and the deepening of cooperation between Turkey and Georgia, the Defence Ministry said.
