Newspaper: Armenia’s Pashinyan being pushed into arms of Russia’s Putin
ForeignHraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in part: Geopolitical developments, in particular the possible change of the ruling regimes of the US and France, along with it the possible fiasco of Ukraine and the restoration of Russian positions, have once again pushed the once Russophobic [Armenian PM] Nikol Pashinyan into the arms of [Russian President] Vladimir Putin.
Perhaps Pashinyan has calculated that the RF will "return" to the region after winning on the Ukrainian front and fix the problems here. And since the leaders of the superpowers protecting it are saying goodbye to power, it is the right time to turn from the West to Russia.
That was the reason why the other day Pashinyan pointed the finger at many by announcing that the matter of [Armenia’s] EU membership will not be put to a referendum. And on the same day, he rushed to send RA Ambassador to the RF [(Russian Federation)] Vagharshak Harutyunyan—who has a few months left in his post—to the RF city of Belgorod, where one of the residential buildings was destroyed as a result of a missile attack by the Ukrainian armed forces.
Although the disaster happened on May 12. Our CC [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract Party of Armenia] sources laugh sarcastically that in the near future, the Armenian people will witness new episodes of "licking the Russian’s boot" by Armenian officials of various calibers.
