China specialists create UAV that flies to drowning person, transforms into lifebuoy

In the practice of rescuers, there are often cases when a drowning person appears far from the shore, and there is nothing to reach him quickly. The TY-3R drone of the Chinese company Didiok Makings, however, is able to solve this problem because it is both a drone and a lifebuoy, reports Tehkult.

The TY-3R takes off like a regular drone, after which its operator can use a real-time 720p HD camera to inspect areas of the water's surface. When a drowning person is detected, the drone immediately goes to him and splashes next to him, then transforms into a lifebuoy. By the way, its main rotors are covered with special screens so as not to damage the victim's fingers.

The TY-3R is capable of keeping two adults afloat, has a reliable communication distance of 1.1 km with its operator and a top speed of about 50 km/h. The operating time of this drone is more than 10 minutes without recharging. Its weighs less than 5 kg, and it is completely sealed in accordance with the IP68 standard, which enables it to dive to a depth of 1 meter and stay under water for up to half an hour.

After rescuers reach the drowning person, the operator commands this drone to autonomously return to its home base.

The TY-3R can fly and land on water, and it is already available on the aforesaid company's website for $11,803.
