Internal Syrian opposition ready for dialogue with Assad

The internal Syrian opposition is ready for a dialogue with the government and does not stipulate President Bashar Assad's stepping down as a pre-condition, Qadri Jamil, the leader of a Syrian opposition delegation and representative of the Popular Front for Change and Liberation, told Itar-Tass.
The delegation headed by him arrived on Thursday in Moscow by air.
Such a dialogue is simply essential, for it is the only way out of the crisis, Jamil said. It is necessary to succeed in reaching a dialogue: the situation is ripe for that, he pointed out.
The Popular Front for Change and Liberation, Jamil said, is ready for a dialogue with the government. In response to a question as to whether Assad should resign in order to bring about the start of such a dialogue, Jamil emphasized that the Movement does not set pre-conditions.
Today the delegation will meet with the Russian foreign minister. Internal Syria’s opposition considers Syria’s Friends group as country’s enemy.
“The so-called Syria’s Friends are not friends at all, they are enemies interested in the foreign interference. Can one be considered a friend, if he does not allow Syrian people solve the issue on their own, who does not want the peaceful settlement to the crisis and encourages bloodshed and Syria’s collapse?” he asked.
Speaking about the prospects of the national coalition of the opposition and revolutionary forces, Jamili said the bloc will soon split. “There is such a tendency as such policy cannot last long,” he said.
The Syria’s opposition representative said the main goal now is to withdraw extremists from the opposition and government’s sides. “They should be isolated and that time new way for national reconciliation will open,” Jamili said.
Commenting on the information as if Damascus is going to use chemical weapon, he said such information is spread for creating a basis for external interference. “It looks like the repetition of Iraqi legend about the existence of weapon of mass distraction,” the opposition representative said.
