Minister: Georgia’s ruling coalition will have a single presidential candidate

Georgia's ruling coalition will have a single presidential candidate, who will win the elections, Defense Minister Irakli Alasania believes. He stated this at a military airfield Bolnisi on Wednesday.
"Our party is a member of the coalition, but it has always had its own distinct position in connection with the model it supports. We will hold talks within the coalition and try to present a single position to the public. Our party has nothing to hide, and it has never tried to hide its position on this issue," Alasania said.
He said the government supports distinct position on Georgia's integration in the Euro-Atlantic area.
"We are dedicated to taking steps in this direction; consideration of a different position is out of question," the minister said.
As of today, Vakhtang Khmaladze and Irakli Alasania are the coalition's presidential candidates.
