Messi out-guns Cristiano
Sport
Messi does it again. The Argentine has become the first player in the history of the Spanish league to score in eleven consecutive matches after successfully putting four goals away against Osasuna on Sunday evening.
He now has a total of 32 goals to count towards the contest for the 'Pichichi' and remains the competition's top goal-scorer, a title he momentarily lost after Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick against Getafe.
The 'Azulgrana' star proved himself to still be insatiable and, going one better than Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick just hours earlier, has brought his Liga goal tally to 201. Only seven players have ever exceeded the 200-goal mark in the Spanish First Division.
Osasuna is one of the opposing teams against which the 'Azulgrana' usually performs well; scoring 14 goals in the 13 matches his team has gone up against the Navarran side.
It is the third time Messi has scored four goals during the course of a single league game; the two occasions previous to this coming during last season's exceptional campaign, against both Valencia and Espanyol.
