Armenia and the Czech Republic have signed eight agreements during last three years.

On November 22, Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg in Prague.
Karel Schwarzenberg congratulated his Armenian counterpart in connection with the opening of an Armenian embassy in Prague and said that Armenian government's decision to establish diplomatic representation in Prague would give fresh impetus to the Armenian-Czech relations.
"Three years ago, we emphasized that additional efforts should be taken to enhance bilateral ties between the countries. Today we are proud to announce that the relations between Armenia and the Czech Republic have entered a new level," said the Armenian Foreign Minister.
Edward Nalbandian underlined that the opening of the embassy speaks about Armenia's intention to deepen friendly ties between the two countries under question. In this context, he emphasized the activated political dialogue, mutual high-level visits, and strengthening of legal field.
The officials noted that eight agreements have been reached between the countries in the last three years. They also referred to a number of international and regional issues of mutual interest. The Czech Foreign Minister hailed the reforms underway in Armenia.
Edward Nalbandian presented his Czech counterpart the latest developments in the Karabakh peace deal. The two men emphasized that there is no alternative to the peaceful settlement of the conflict. The meeting was followed by a joint press conference.
On the same day the two foreign ministers attended the opening of the Armenian Embassy in Prague. Present at the event were ambassadors accredited in Prague, members of the Czech parliament and representatives of the local Armenian community.
Edward Nalbandian also visited the upper chamber of the Czech Parliament (Senate) where he met with the Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Přemysl Sobotka and other senators. The meeting focused on issues related to reciprocal relations and inter-parliamentary cooperation. At the request of the senators, Edward Nalbandian presented the main directions and priorities of Armenia's foreign policy.
On the morning of November 22, the Armenian Foreign Minister delivered a speech on Armenia's foreign policy at the Association for International Affairs, the RA MFA press service reported.
