Armenian scholar and philosopher, Professor Hrant Hakobyan died on November 23.

Distinguished Armenian scholar and philosopher, Professor Hrant Hakobyan passed away on Nov.23, at the age of 84.

Professor Hakobyan was instrumental in the opening of Yerevan State University's (YSU) Faculty of Theology, where he chaired the Department of Religion for around ten years.

In 2010, Armenia's President had bestowed upon Professor Hrant Hakobyan the title of Distinguished Person of Science. He was also awarded the Fridtjof Nansen Gold Medal, the YSU Gold Medal, and several other awards.
