Catholicos of All-Armenians Karekin II expressed gratification on start of the affiliation process of Armenian parties with the EPP.

On November 23, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin Catholicos of All-Armenians Karekin II received  the delegation of the European Peoples' Party (EPP), accompanied by Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan.

His Holiness expressed gratification on start of the affiliation process of Armenian parties with the EPP. His Holiness noted that the similarity of our merit system and European merits, anchored on Christian faith and morality, would ease the implementation of the intended cooperation between Armenian parties and EPP.

Vice-Chair of EPP, MEP Corien Wortman-Kool thanked for warm reception on behalf of the members of the delegation. In his speech he stressed that the Christian merits form the basis of the EPP.

During the meeting the parties also referred to the historical mission of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, to inter-church relations, and participation of the Armenian Church in the inter-religious diologue.
