Timoshenko is accused in an ordered murder.

US Prosecutors have information about the alleged involvement of Yulia Timoshenko in a murder case, Ukraine’s Deputy Chief Prosecutor said on Friday.

The killing of Evgeny Scherban, an eminent regional Ukrainian politician, in 1996 remains unsolved and Timoshenko appears to be related to the contractor of the hit in the celebrated case, "VESTI.RU" stated.

Timoshenko was arrested on August 5 during the hearing on a “gas deal”. The politician is accused of exceeding the bounds of her power in signing gas deals with Russia in 2009 and is now being held in a pre-trial detention center.
