RA President awarded His Holiness Kirill with St. Mesrop Mashtots Medal.

On Nov. 28, President Serzh Sargsyan hosted Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill and Catholicos of All-Armenians Karekin II.

The President welcomed the visit of the delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church to Armenia and expressed hope that it will serve for strengthening of friendly relations between the Armenian Apostolic and Russian Orthodox Churches.

The head of the republic highly appraised the efforts of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill directed toward strengthening of moral and spiritual merits in society. According to Serzh Sargsyan, the life and activity of Patriarch Kirill are a fine example of serving the homeland and Russian Orthodox Church.

On Monday's decree of President Serzh Sargsyan, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill was awarded with St. Mesrop Mashtots Medal for outstanding contribution to expansion of friendly relations between Armenian and Russian peoples and strengthening of ties between the Armenian Apostolic and Russian Orthodox Churches.

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill expressed gratitude to President Serzh Sargsyan and Catholicos-of All Armenians for assisting in conduction of the sitting of the board of trustees of CIS Inter-religious Council and wished God's blessing to the diligent Armenian people and prosperity to Armenia, and wished successes to the head of the republic in his important and responsible work.
