President Serzh Sargsyan`s official visit to Georgia.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who is on two days' official visit in Tbilisi made a joint statement with his Georgian counterpart.

"I am thankful to the Georgian President Saakashvili for the warm reception.

I can state for sure that this year was unprecedented for the cooperation activity between our two states. The relations developed dynamically during last two years. Two dozens of high-ranking visits took place including all fields of cooperation: education, social issues, energy and transportation, intergovernmental relations, defense, and police border security.

I would like to note especially the cooperation agreement between Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and Armenian National Security Service.

We give priority to the cooperation development with Georgia in energetic, transportation and cultural spheres.

We start the construction of north-south highway. It will join to the Ninotsminda-Batumi road and will be possible to transfer cargo easily and quickly from Persian Gulf to Georgian ports.

We also discussed perspectives of regional cooperation, stating that only through cooperation it is possible to weaken intensity in the region and create more favorable conditions for the settlement of the conflicts.

I thank to the Georgian authorities for always creating favorable conditions," Armenian President's message reads.
