Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met today the regional director of Veolia Water Company, Paul Remi, to discuss possibilities of ensuring a 24-hour water supply in the capital city.
Describing the plan very ambitious, the mayor said the municipal authorities will eventually manage to make it feasible.
“Our biggest project at the moment deals with the repairs of cleaning stations and drainage systems. After completing those works, we will enhance our activities,” he said.
In the past five years, the water supply company "Yerevan Jour" received a $25 million loan from the French Government, and another $18 million – from the World Bank.
Paul Remi, who drinks tap water in Armenia, said he trusts the running spring waters in the country.
