RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanynan`s message.
Armenia
Observing the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Armenia’s Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan on Saturday sent a message to Armenian war veterans and military servicemen who became disabled during the battles waged for the protection of the Fatherland.
The message specifically reads:
“The catastrophic earthquake of Spitak and subsequently the Artsakh [Karabakh] Fight for Freedom pinned many to wheelchairs, or deprived them of the chance to work and create fully. In order to defend the independence and territorial integrity of Armenia and [Nagorno Karabakh Republic] NKR, the physical existence of Artsakh Armenians, and the Armenian people’s right to live freely, you knowingly faced the bullets, bombs, and mines, and paid a very high price for this. But your selfless dedication became an example for the present and coming generations, soldiers, and officers. Your heroic deed is undying. What’s important is to be of sound spirit and judgment, and, first and foremost, our country needs such people. Rest assured that the leadership of the Republic of Armenia is doing, and will do, everything possible to ease your burden.”
