Marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, on Saturday, Armenia’s Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan and senior commanders of the Armed Forces paid visits to disabled veterans of the Karabakh War, learned of their challenges, conversed with them, and handed them gifts.
Seyran Ohanyan visited the home of first-degree disabled Apet Aghababyan, who was seriously wounded at Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s Martakert Region, in February 1993, and subsequently his leg was amputated.
During the warm conversation, the Defense Minister acquainted with the war veteran’s military life and his social and everyday problems. Ohanyan thanked Aghababyan for his contribution to the Karabakh Fight for Freedom, and encouraged the war veteran.
“A person must be spiritually sound; the most important is not to be spiritually disabled. It is this very spirit that keeps unfaltering our friends in arms who have physical problems as a result of the war,” said Seyran Ohanyan.
