World's most expensive car crash in Japan.
Sport
Fourteen supercars turned into heaps of scrap metal on a rain-soaked Chugoku Expressway in western Japan at about 10:16 am on Sunday, when a 60 year old man behind the wheel of a red Ferrari lost control while switching lanes and hit the median, rebounded and initiated the supercar massacre.
The convoy, which included eight Ferraris, three Mercedes Benzes, a Lamborghini Diablo, a Nissan GT-R and a Toyota Prius, were heading from Hiroshima to Kyushu along the China Road when the pileup occurred and created an estimated loss of three million dollars. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in the incident - other than the 14 super cars, that is.
The 14-car Japan pile-up has now taken over the title of the 'worlds most expensive car crash’ which until now rested with the incident that took place in Monaco in July this year, where five super cars – a Bentley Azure, Mercedes S-Class, Ferrari F430, Aston Martin Rapide and a Porsche 911 Carrera - met their sad demise.
