Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian participated in Bonn conference on Afghanistan affairs.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian participated December 5 in an international conference on Afghanistan affairs, in Bonn. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, foreign ministers and heads of international organizations, as well as more than 1000 delegates from about 1000 countries attended the conference.

Armenian Foreign Minister also delivered speech at the conference, particularly saying, “Armenia is taking part in the joint efforts of international community to help Afghanistan to establish peace with its society, its neighbors and international community, not to allow the destructive activity of the terrorist forces in Afghanistan and everywhere.”

The participants of the conference adopted a joint declaration, by which they confirmed the readiness of international community to assist in establishment of stability, security and democracy in Afghanistan. Gratitude was expressed to the countries, which contribute to solution of issues of Afghanistan.

From Bonn Edward Nalbandian left for Vilnius, where he would participate in the meeting of OSCE Council of Foreign Misniters.
