RA President meets with Adolf Berghofer, the Chairman of the Presidential Council on Nuclear Energy Safety.

On December 6 at the reception hall of the government, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with Chairman of the Presidential Council on Nuclear Energy Safety Mr. Adolf Berghofer, who has arrived in Armenia to participate in the 12th sitting of the Council on Nuclear Energy Safety.

Welcoming the guest, the head of the republic expressed gratitude for showing notable support to Armenia in the issue of nuclear safety. Serzh Sargsyan attached importance to the work of the Council on Nuclear Energy Safety and to the cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The Armenian President and the Chairman of the Presidential Council on Nuclear Energy Safety referred to the works implemented up to now in the direction of safety increase of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (HAEK), discussed issues on further exploitation of the plant and on construction of new energy unit.

At the reception hall of the government President Serzh Sargsyan participated in the sitting of the Council on Nuclear Energy Safety and delivered an opening speech.
