Fall session of the Armenian Parliament was closed traditionally with the national anthem.
Though there were many MPs in the hall not many sang the anthem. Among those who sang the anthem, the newly elected vice Speaker Edward Sharmazanov representing ruling Republican Party was to distinguish, while majority of his colleagues listened it silently.
Before proceeding to the agenda issues, the NA Speaker Samvel Nikoyan noted that a group of students and lecturers from Armenia`s State University of Architecture and Construction were following the NA session. The delegates welcomed them. Samvel Nikoyan informed that on December 5, during the RPA session Gagik Melikyan was appointed as the fiction`s secretary.
Armenian parliament approved on Thursday the 2012 draft budget by 66 votes “for” and 2 “against”. Eighty- seven MPs were present in the parliament hall.
Revenue and expenditures were increased by AMD 1.6 billion ($4.2 million) as compared with September 2011 when the draft budget was drew up.
Armenian Parliament rejected the vote of no confidence in the existing government introduced by ARF Dashnaktsutyun MP Armen Rustamyan.
The initiative was rejected by 48 votes “against” and 13 “for”, four MPs abstained.
