In 2011, the Committee for the Protection of Freedom of Speech conducted a monitoring of the websites of Armenia’s state agencies, and assessed their transparency level.
The Committee’s Chairman Ashot Melikyan stated, at a press conference on Friday, that among 38 monitored websites, the one of the Regional Governance Ministry was recognized as the website that provided the most accessible information to the public.
In his words, they monitored the presence, completeness, urgency, and accessibility of the posted information. “And the websites of the ministries of Regional Governance (www.mta.gov.am, with 52.07 percent), Transport and Communication (www.mtc.am, with 51.09-6 percent), and Labor and Social Affairs (www.mss.a, with 48.39 percent) meet with the monitored criteria the most, whereas the Culture Ministry’s website (www.mincult.am, with 19.62 percent) is in the last place,” Ashot Melikyan informed.
