Catholicos of All-Armenians hosted Lebanese President Michel Suleiman.

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All-Armenians received President of the Republic of Lebanon Michel Suleiman at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Accompanying Suleiman was RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan.

In his speech, His Holiness expressed gratitude to the Lebanese government and people for recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide and for showing support to a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The President of Lebanon expressed gratitude for the warm reception and touched upon the historical presence of Armenians in Lebanon and their importance service to the country's political, economic and cultural life. Michel Suleiman also voiced hope that His Holiness would visit Lebanon.

The inter-ecclesiastical and interreligious relations of the Armenian Church were also touched upon during the meeting. At the end, the Catholicos of All Armenians wished that God bless and strengthen the friendship between both nations.

Then, His Holiness led the President to the Mother Temple and the museum of the Mother Temple, reports the press service of the Mother See.
