Georgian soccer captain Kakha Kaladze, who attended the congress on Sunday together with Ukrainian soccer star Andrey Shevchenko -- said he had decided to quit the Georgian national soccer team in protest against the authorities.
"Dear compatriots, I Kakha Kaladze like millions of our citizens, welcome the entry of, well-known businessmen and patron, Bidzina Ivanishvili into Georgian Politics. Mr. Bidzinas' charity work is spread over almost every area of our lives and we have learned about that only recently. Over the years this man has been serving our nation gratuitously, without reproach, noise and advertising. I had the honor to meet Mr. Bidzina personally. We had a very cordial and friendly meeting with him and his son Bera. I was introduced to his traditional Georgian family. The meeting convinced me that our values and approaches are similar. Just like you, my dear citizens - who are willing better and worthy future for our country, I'm ready to fight for the ending this humiliating regime by all constitutional means," reported newsgeorgia.ru.
