Armenian, German FMs meet in Berlin

Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Germany Edward Nalbandian and Guido Westerwelle met on March 14, MFA press service reports.
Welcoming his Armenian counterpart, the German minister said he remembers his visit to Armenia last year and waits for another opportunity. He said he is pleased with the high level political dialogue between the two countries, stressing that Germany is interested in development of cooperation with Armenia.
The interlocutors referred to the cooperation in cultural and education spheres, prospects of implementation of joint programs.
The two ministers also referred to the issues of security in the Caucasian region and issues on reinforcement of stability. With the request of German minister, Nalbandian presented the current developments over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, the efforts of Armenia and international community.
The ministers also referred to the Armenia-EU relations, cooperation in the frameworks of Eastern Partnership.
The ministers agreed to meet regularly, conduct reciprocal visits.
On the same day Edward Nalbandian met with the head of Germany-South Caucasus Bundestag friendship group Wolfgang Bornsen.
During the meeting Minister Nalbandian said the parliamentary diplomacy is an important format for development of relations between states and welcomed the activity of German MPs addressed to further development of Armenian-German relations.
After the visit to Germany, Nalbandian departed for Athens.
