Armenian parliamentary opposition Heritage party stands for transition to parliamentary government system, which will allow raising the role of the parliament, leader of Heritage party Raffi Hovannisian said on Monday.
“We also stand for the 100% proportion electoral system, which will be effective to form the parliament,” he said.
Answering to the question why Heritage MP Larisa Hivhannisyan was the nominee for the vice speaker and not the party leader, Hovannisian said that his nomination was not discussed. Besides, Alaverdyan would have deserved the post more.
He also commented on the recent statement by the leader of the off-parliamentary opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan on possible cooperation with ruling coalition member Prosperous Armenia party, in case it leaves the coalition. He said he would welcome the ANC –PAP dialogue, however, it is non-realistic.
“I have no expectations, that PAP will leave the ruling coalition,” he concluded.
