Criminal case is launched against Armenian post office branch manager in Vanadzor city.

A criminal case is launched against M. Gevorgyan, manager of the Armenian Vanadzor city’s post office branch No. 2015 of Haypost Company. 

Also, Police Force General Investigation Department is continuing its investigation into the branch manager’s appropriation of pensions and benefit amounts. 

Gevorgyan was charged Monday. He is accused of stealing, by way of appropriating, more than 6 million drams (approx. US$ 15,544).

During the investigation Gevorgyan fully restored the property damage caused to Haypost Company.

General Jurisdiction Court of Lori Region granted the Police Force’s petition, and ruled that Gevorgyan be imprisoned. But the Court also granted Gevorgyan’s attorney’s petition, and the prison sentence was commuted to bail.
