Armenian FM receives chief negotiator on Association Agreement Gunnar Wiegand

Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received on Tuesday chief negotiator on Armenia-EU Association Agreement Gunnar Wiegand who arrived in Armenia for the 12th round of talks.
Minister Nalbandian said, talks on Association Agreement, launched back in June 2010, are close to the final stage thanks to the joint efforts. He also called effective talks on free trade area agreement.
Edward Nalbandian noted that Armenia’s leadership headed by president did everything for implementation of large-scale reforms aiming to strengthen rule of law and democratic institutions. These efforts must be appreciated and the EU provided additional funds for Armenia in accordance with “more for more” principle.
During the meeting, it was noted that the sides have common goal to finalize talks on the Association Agreement, including the free trade agreement, by the time of Vilnius summit planned for this November.
The 12th round of talks on Association Agreement kicked off in Armenia’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
