"Armenia’s Syunik Regional Governor Suren (Surik) Khachatryan has neither a past, nor a future; they simply spared him and closed the criminal case because of the upcoming parliamentary elections," stated businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan, during a press conference on Thursday, adding she is satisfied with Special Investigation Service’s (SIS) decision to close the case, to the extent that Khachatryan regretted his actions and made a public apology to her.
“Wherever Suren Khachatryan runs for a parliamentary mandate, I will run in the same place, too,” Hambardzumyan added.
She also noted she did not wish to enter politics, but she could, if she wished to. “At the same time, my battle against Surik Khachatryan is continuing. Today, I demand from him that he returns the equipment that belongs to me, or pays 102 million drams (approx. US$ 264,740), in its place,” Silva Hambardzumyan maintained.
To note, the SIS closed Tuesday the criminal case it had launched against Syunik Regional Governor Suren Khachatryan’s hitting businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan.
