The decision of Armenian weightlifters’ disqualification is not yet confirmed.

Decision on disqualification of European Weightlifting Championship’s silver medalist Gevorik Poghosyan and bronze medalist Elen Grigoryan is not final.

International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has published doping check results of ‘A’ sample. According to it, Armenian two weightlifters were disqualified till 2015. However, Armenia appealed and gave ‘B’ samples, the analyze of which is not yet published, president of Armenian Weightlifting federation Samvel Khachatryan said at a press conference on Thursday adding that the weightlifters are neither disqualified nor free to compete.

He also stated that Armenian Federation has a contract with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) of the International Olympics Committee. They send the analyses each 40 days and also10 days before the championship.

“If something had happened it happened during those ten days,” Khachatryan concluded.

He does not believe that IWF is a corrupted organization. However, injustice is sometimes observed by the referees and doping procedures.
